Offline Map Maker v6.8
Offline Map Maker is a lightweight Windows
application built specifically for helping users download map images for
offline viewing provided by Google, Bing, Yahoo!, or OpenStreetMap.
It sports a clean and intuitive layout that allows users to perform most operations with minimum effort.
Offline Map Maker gives you the possibility to provide a name for
the current downloading task and select the provider from where the
images are grabbed (e.g. Google Street Maps, Bing Satellite Maps, Bing
Hybrid Maps).
What’s more, you are allowed to set up the zooming
parameters, specify the left and right longitude, enter the top and
bottom latitude, pick the saving directory, as well as view the number
of downloaded pictures.
The program enables you to pick a default
target location, configure the proxy parameters, analyze the log for
details about the entire process and possible errors, as well as convert
degrees, minutes and seconds to degrees.
Last but not least, you
can make the utility redownload the failed items and use the built-in
viewer for opening the downloaded maps. You can also switch to a full
screen mode, zoom in or out, and merge the maps to BMP file format.
During
our testing we have noticed that the tool carries out a task very
quickly, provides very good image quality, and no errors showed up
throughout the entire process. It doesn’t put a lot of stress on CPU and
memory, so the overall system performance is not hampered.
All
in all, Offline Map Maker provides an intuitive layout and a handy set
of parameters for helping you download maps with ease.
